About DVD Section

The DVD Section has a collection of over 2,500 DVDs and adds about 150 DVDs every month concentrating on popular, newly released titles among the main genres of Action & Adventure, Drama, Crime, Comedy and Suspense/Thriller. We are also buying Horror, Asian & World Cinema movies and a few documentaries. No collection is complete without the Classics and we gradually add more titles and continue to add titles from IMDb's list of the top 250 movies.

On the Reception Counter in the Main Library is a computer with catalogues, which you can use to browse for DVDs.

PURCHASING POLICY
Our aim is to buy DVDs that will be popular with our members. We also buy multiple copies of newly released popular DVDs to help meet the demand.

JOIN THE DVD SECTION
The Section Fee is $5 a month and you may borrow DVDs as often as you like, subject to a limit of two at a time. Please ask the Librarian for a registration form. They can also answer any questions you may have.

BORROWING DVDS
Visit the Main Library to browse the Catalogues and borrow a DVD. See below for the opening hours.

RETURNING DVDS
Please return DVDs to the Main Library. If the Library is closed, you may return them at the Front Desk in the Main Lobby.

Bye-Law 23c(i), governing the use of the DVD Library

c(i) DVD Library

Regulations
In order to borrow DVDs from the Library, Members are required to pay S$5.00 per month. This is essential to enable the Members to join the DVD Section.

(c)(ii) Members may borrow two DVDs per membership for a period of one week.

(c)(iii) There will be a cost of replacement, plus administrative costs, for a lost or damaged DVD.

(c)(iv) At the expiry of the period , a notice shall be sent to Members, and unless the DVD or DVDs are returned to the Club within four days, Members shall be liable to a fine of 25 cents for every additional day for which the DVD is retained.

(c)(v) Absence of a reminder is not a valid reason for a waiver of fines.
